Spikes of azure bloom
A friend asked how I made these, so I promised to put up a quick tutorial.
To make these lavender hearts, you will need:
Two sets of scraps of cotton sufficient to make two heart shapes: I used a variety of fat quarters of patchwork cotton, and unbleached calico;
Matching thread
Scraps of ribbon to make the loops
Buttons
Pinking shears, or scissors
A sewing machine
A sewing needle
